Intel has recently announced a significant update to its Xeon processor lineup, introducing the new “Xeon 6” branding. This change streamlines the naming convention for its upcoming Sierra Forest and Granite Rapids CPU families, focusing on enhanced efficiency and performance.

The Sierra Forest processors, characterized by their Efficient-cores (E-cores), promise a remarkable improvement in energy efficiency. Users can anticipate up to a 4x boost in performance per watt and a 2.7x increase in rack density over previous generations. On the other hand, the Granite Rapids processors, powered by Performance-cores (P-cores), are set to elevate AI performance capabilities.
