Intel NUC DCCP847DYE System Review

We grabbed our power consumption figures by putting some load on the system using PCMark 7. For all systems we left them to idle for a bit and then took a typical idle measurement before putting them under PCMark 7 load and grabbing the maximum power consumption after a few loops of the test.

The NUC made some dramatic power consumption gains over the older Atom D525 models consuming a tiny 12W at idle and 23W at the highest load power draw. 23W really is nothing and for a unit that packs more performance than some Atom systems these are fantastic figures. The mSATA probably further helps reduce power draw by avoiding the high power consumption of some mechanical drives that mini PC vendors use.
