Intel NUC DCCP847DYE System Review

Temperature testing was done by recording the average idle temperature after a 10 minute idle desktop period. This is then followed by measuring the average maximum CPU temperature from a 10 minute Prime95 burn in. All temperatures were recorded in a room with a stable ambient of 22 degrees.

The Intel NUC runs very hot. In fact it runs significantly hotter than the older Atoms and hotter than the Core i5 of the Gigabyte BRIX. We think the NUC could probably do with a tad more ventilation but the temperatures certainly weren’t unsafe. There is easily an extra 15 degrees of room to play with and this is a worst case scenario, typical usage is nowhere near this high.
