Intel to Release Alder Lake-S CPUs & Z690 Motherboards on Nov 19th?

It’s been well known for some time now that Intel would launch their 12th-gen Alder Lake-S processors at some point towards the end of this year. And, of course, their new Z690 motherboard platform due to the CPUs transitioning to a new socket design. While rumours have largely pointed towards an October release, following a report via Videocardz fresh information is now suggesting something surprisingly specific. Namely, that both Alder Lake-S and the Z690 platform will be arriving on November 19th!

Intel Alder Lake-S & Z690 Release Date?

While, as noted above, many sources have claimed that October was the release date for Alder Lake-S, it should be noted that it’s entirely possible that confusion has been created due to the regular conflation of ‘launches’ and ‘releases’. A ‘launch’ is simply when product/s are formally confirmed and revealed, a release is when they should be available to purchase.

As such, with this in mind, it’s entirely possible that if this fresh information is proven correct, we’re looking at an October launch date for Alder Lake-S and Z690 with a release date scheduled for November 19th. Given that we recently saw leaked prices for the CPU range appear online, however, one thing is abundantly clear. Alder Lake-S is definitely drawing closer!

What Do We Think?

While November 19th is certainly a lot later than many anticipated, by and large, and based on all prior leaks, it makes sense. If prior information is proven accurate though, we should note that Intel is only expected to debut its flagship products at this time. Their more entry-level processors and ‘lower-tier’ motherboards are still widely expected to be confirmed at CES 2022 (which starts on January 7th).

Presuming this is all correct though, we’re only around 10 weeks away from finally finding out just how good (or bad) Alder Lake-S will be. And rest assured, we’ll be here with masses of benchmarks, tests, reviews, and videos to let you know exactly what we think!

What do you think though? – Let us know in the comments!
