Intel has cut the prices of three processors in line with scheduled price cutting events. The table below shows the range of price cuts which include the i3 2120 dual core:
Model | Cores | Threads | Frequency | L3 cache | Old price | New price |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Core i3-2120 | 2 | 4 | 3.3 GHz | 3 MB | $138 | $117 |
Pentium G630 | 2 | 2 | 2.7 GHz | 3 MB | $75 | $64 |
Pentium G850 | 2 | 2 | 2.9 GHz | 3 MB | $86 | $75 |
However the main news comes from the fact Intel have now listed the 2700k on their pricing list and it is a lot cheaper than many anticipated. For example Amazon started listing the Intel 2700k for $381 and suggesting the retail price was $399. Intel’s price list shows us that the 2700k will come in at just $332 which is $15 higher than the 2600k. In essence you only get a cherry picked 2600k but with stock clocks 0.1GHz higher so the pricing from Intel makes perfect sense for once. You can actually pre order the 2700k from Amazon at $381 as mentioned before but that price is surely to be corrected in the light of Intel’s recent price list. For those who are unfamiliar with the 2700k here is a quick recap of the specifications:
