Intel Reveals 9th Generation Ice Lake Processors

Not content with the imminent release of its 8th Generation CPUs, Intel is already teasing its 9th Generation. The company revealed that its 9th Gen processors are codenamed Ice Lake, built on a 10nm+ process. Meanwhile, Coffee Lake is set for release later this year.
9th Generation Ice Lake
Intel revealed the existence of Ice Lake on its codename page. However, information on Ice Lake is scant, short of its codename and 10nm+ process. The posting on the Intel website reads:
“The Ice Lake processor family is a successor to the eighth generation Intel Core processor family. These processors utilize Intel’s industry-leading 10nm+ process technology.”
8th Generation Coffee Lake
Meanwhile, Intel is preparing to launch its 8th Generation processor family, codenamed Coffee Lake. Intel will officially unveil Coffee Lake on 21st August, prior to release during this year’s Holiday season. The Coffee Lake family will include four six-core chips; two 65W and two K-series. Top of the tree will be the Core i7-8700K. Specifications for the i7-8700K follow below.
