Intel has just revealed new information about its upcoming NUC series which utilises the Apollo Lake SoC. This new product range comprises of the NUC6CAYH barebones model without memory, storage or an operating system and the NUC6CAYS which is already pre-built for your convenience. The NUC6CAYS has 2GB of RAM, 32GB eMMC storage and comes with a copy of Windows 10. If you require additional horsepower, it’s possible to upgrade the memory up to 8GB with a maximum speed of 1866MHz. As you can see, the system opts for an Intel Celeron J3455 quad-core processor which relies on a 1.5GHz base and 2.3GHz turbo. Also, the Intel HD Graphics 500 is deployed to cope with video streaming and other non-intensive tasks.

Connectivity-wise, the NUC has two USB 3.0 ports on the front and two USB 3.0 ports positioned in the rear portion. In terms of networking, the Realtek 8111HN is used alongside a pre-installed WiFi/Bluetooth 4.2 combo card. Intel included a 2.5-inch SATA slot to install an SSD or HDD measuring up to 9.5mm high.
