Intel unveiled its remaining Core-i9 CPU line-up today, including impending release dates. As a result, we now have full specifications for the Core i9-7920X, i9-7940X, i9-7960X, and i9-7980XE processors. In particular, the Core-i9 series spec confirms the i9-7980XE to be an imposing 18-core beast which reaches frequencies of 4.4GHz (with Turbo Boost 3.0). The first batch of new chips is out at the end of the month, while the rest follow late-September. The information tallies with our reports from last week and last month.

Intel says:
“The 12-core Intel® Core™ X-series processor will be available starting on Aug. 28, and 14- to 18-core Intel® Core™ X-series processors will be available starting Sept. 25. The 4- to 10-core Intel® Core™ X-series processors are already on shelves and available at multiple retailers, along with more than 200 Intel X299 Chipset motherboards.”
