Intel Unveils New Arc B-Series Graphics Cards and Announces Release Date

Intel has officially unveiled its new generation of desktop PC graphics cards, aiming to continue investing in this hardware category, address issues from its first generation, and establish a foothold in a market previously dominated by NVIDIA and AMD.

These new Arc Battlemage graphics cards include the Intel Arc B580, which serves as the top of the line model, and the Intel Arc B570. Below, you will find details on their release dates, prices, and features. These GPUs are designed to deliver optimal performance at 1440p and 1080p resolutions.

On a technical level, the Intel Arc B580 features 20 Xe2 cores operating at 2670 MHz, paired with 12 GB of GDDR6 memory on a 192-bit interface. It boasts a memory speed of 19 Gbps and a bandwidth of 456 GB/s, with a maximum total power consumption of 190 W. Conversely, the Intel Arc B570 is equipped with 18 Xe2 cores running at 2500 MHz, 10 GB of GDDR6 memory, a 160-bit interface, a bandwidth of 380 GB/s, and a total board power (TBP) of up to 150 W. Both graphics cards include a single 8-pin connector, three DisplayPort 2.1 ports, and one HDMI 2.1 port.

Introducing Intel XeSS2 with Frame Generation

One of the most notable features of Intel’s new graphics cards is XeSS2, the latest version of Intel’s texture smoothing and upscaling system. XeSS2 now includes frame generation technology and a latency reduction system, significantly enhancing performance. For instance, in F1 24, performance increases from 48 FPS without upscaling to 93 FPS with XeSS, and up to 152 FPS with XeSS2 and frame generation. This technology requires developers to implement it in supported games, so its adoption may progress gradually initially.

First Benchmarks of the Intel Arc B580

As expected, Intel has released the first benchmarks focusing on its most powerful GPU, the Arc B580. While these results should be approached with caution until gamers and analysts can test the graphics card firsthand, they provide a preliminary indication of performance at 1440p and 1080p resolutions, which are the target resolutions for these models. According to Intel’s data, the Arc B580 is 24% faster than Intel’s previous generation top-tier GPU, delivering 174 FPS at 1440p and Ultra settings in Diablo 4 (with XeSS upscaling), 107 FPS in Cyberpunk 2077, and 96 FPS in Atomic Heart.
