Intel Updates Arc A770 GPU Review Embargo Suggesting Mid-October Release!
Mike Sanders / 2 years ago
Intel Arc desktop graphics cards are officially late. And no, we’re not just referring to the fact that they were initially supposed to be dropping around February/March. With Intel’s subsequent marketing repeatedly claiming that they’d arrive before the end of Summer, and with us now officially in Autumn, it really does cement the fact that the development of Arc GPUs has been more than a little troubled.
With Intel seemingly getting ready to limp across the line, however, it does still beg the question as to when they will be officially launched. And following a report via Videocardz, it seems that the answer might be mid-October (ish).
Intel Arc Desktop Graphics Cards
According to the source, Intel has formally issued an update for its embargo date/s regarding its Arc desktop graphics cards. – Albeit, even in this regard, Intel still seems to be making it unnecessarily complicated by kicking things off with the ‘unboxing’ embargo lifting on September 30th. So, in less than a week, we’re going to at least be able to see what they actually look like and also their packaging.
How the graphics card actually performs though (review embargo)? Well, we’re going to have to wait until the 5th of October for that which just kind of highlights just how pointless, and, ultimately, completely non-sensical unboxing embargo are.
We should note too that it’s also unclear exactly which Arc GPUs will be set for these embargo dates. While the source is citing the A770 specifically, Intel has repeatedly said that the A770 and A750 would see a simultaneous launch. Albeit, this clearly doesn’t necessarily facilitate them being released at the same time, and more so, we should also add that the A580 hasn’t been mentioned at all!
Overall though, this does kind of highlight just how big a mess Arc has been for Intel. All going well though, within the next two weeks, we should finally find out just how good (or bad) their top-tier graphics cards are! – Let’s be honest though, at this point, who among you even really cares that much anymore?
