Intel’s missing piece of the Arc Alchemist puzzle may soon finally hit the shelves following the release of the 31.0.101.4887 graphics drivers which have explicitly added support for the missing A580 graphics card.
Arc Drivers Introduce A580 Support
Several days ago new information came forward surrounding the Arc A580 mostly involving listings on a German price comparison site and also a tweet from leaker momomo_us. Today we have some more solid and official information regarding this card in the form of the latest 31.0.101.4887 Game On Drivers. Within the highlights, it states “Support for Intel Arc A580 Graphics” which couldn’t be any more or less of a confirmation that this card will be hitting the shelves very soon. As a reminder the A580 is an 8GB GPU using GDDR6 on a 256-bit bus and features 24 Xe cores with a clock speed of 1700MHz, it looks to be another reasonable budget option if you’re willing to look past the early adopter issues.
More Gaming Performance Improvements
Onto the rest of the driver update, Arc users can expect new support for the COD Modern Warfare III Beta as well as Total War: PHARAOH and Lords of The Fallen. In the last driver update we saw performance improvements for 20 titles and with this update, that number isn’t quite as high but is just as welcome. The most notable performance increase is with Starfield which sees up to 117% uplift at 1080p ultra and up to 149% at 1440p high settings which is great news following the issues Arc had with Starfield’s Launch. On top of this the newly released Forza Motorsport sees up to 8% uplift at 1080p Ultra whilst F1 23 sees a 12% uplift at 1440p Ultra High and a 136% uplift at 2160p Ultra High.
Hopefully, the A580 can offer something something solid for those on a budget although the A750 already seems to do an okay job in that regard. The latest update can be downloaded at Intel.com or through the Arc Control app
