Intel’s New GPU Drivers Still Offering Performance Improvements

Today Intel has released the latest version of its Arc Game On Drivers version 101.5379 Beta, which as expected comes with a host of game-specific performance improvements as well as some other additions.

Starting with the gaming highlights, these new drivers introduce Game On supoprt for Diablo IV’s Ray Tracing Update, Dragon’s Dogma 2, Horizon Forbidden West and The Legend of the Condor Heroes. Moving on to the performance improvements, for dedicated Intel Arc A-Series GPUs users can expect some sizable gains compared to the 101.5333 drivers in titles such as Detroit: Become Human featuring a 137% average uplift at 1080p Ultra and a 172% average uplift at 1440p Ultra. Conqueror’s Blade features a 54% uplift at 1080p high, and Granblue Fantasy: Relink sees an average 187% uplift at 1080p Ultra.

Alternatively those using Intel Core Ultra integrated graphics will also see some improvements here including a 117% average uplift on Assassin’s Creed Origins at 1080p Medium, a 17% uplift on God of War at 1080p original settings, and a 6% average uplift on Fortnite at 1080p High.

The latest drivers can be installed at intel.com, this current driver version will be listed under the Beta drivers tab, altrenatively the Arc Control app can be used to keep your Arc GPU up to date.

Fixed Issues:

  • DOTA 2 (VK) may experience an application crash while launching game

Intel Core Ultra with built-in Intel Arc GPUs:

  • Serif Affinity Photo 2 may experience an application crash while running benchmark.
  • Alan Wake 2 (DX12) may experience corruption while turning off global reflection settings.

Known Issues:
Intel Arc A-Series Graphics Products:

  • Horizon Forbidden West (DX12) may experience longer than expected load times while launching into gameplay during the first run of the game. It is recommended to allow the loading process to complete in full before exiting the game.
  • Topaz Video AI may experience error when using some models for video enhancement.

Intel Core Ultra with built-in Intel Arc GPUs:

  • Diablo IV (DX12) may exhibit corruption on the terrain during gameplay.
  • Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora (DX12) may experience a crash during game loading.
  • Helldivers 2 (DX12) may experience application hang during gameplay.
  • Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection (DX12) may experience application crash on loading to gameplay before shader compilation complete in the main menu
  • Autodesk Maya may experience an application crash while running SPECPC benchmark
  • Blender max experience an application crash while rendering some scenes on certain system memory configurations
  • Topaz Video AI may experience errors when using some models for video enhancements.
  • Procyon AI may experience an application crash while running benchmark with precision Float32.
