It has been well-speculated (almost bordering on well-known) that Intel would likely utilise CES 2023 to announce the launch of more Raptor Lake processors. Most specifically, the non-K variants since the initial release last month predominantly just covered the more prominent K-specification models.
Would this be the case though? Well, following a report via Videocardz, the answer is apparently yes and even more. – Information has leaked online suggesting that on January 3rd, Intel might just get everything out the way in one fell swoop by launching all of its remaining Raptor Lake processors en-masse.
A move that could potentially see as many as 16 new models hit the market before the end of February!
It has already been confirmed via a number of sources (including Microsoft) that the Intel Raptor Lake series currently comprises of 22 individual SKUs. – With 6 of them already available to purchase, therefore, this announcement has clearly led to speculation that rather than piecemealing them out, Intel may just go the whole hog and confirm all remaining 16 models at a launch event immediately prior to CES 2023 (which officially runs January 5th to January 8th).
And for those of you potentially considering making the move to Raptor Lake, the news may get even better as it’s understood that, during this launch event, Intel will also confirm the upcoming release of its B760 motherboard platform. A factor which, all going well, will see consumers have notably less expensive alternatives to the current Z790 offerings.
With major announcements also expected from AMD, Nvidia, and many others during this time, however, the short version is that while January and CES 2023 were already going to be pretty busy in terms of new tech announcements, Intel may have just made it a lot more hectic (in a good way).
