Not far into 2012, we will see the release of Intel’s new Ivy Bridge line of processors based on the new 22 nm silicon which will provide performance improvements over current generation as well as some new features.
Around the end of November, a preliminary roadmap could be outlined, listing several Core i5/i7 models, which were later confirmed by roadmap slides.
CPU World compiled retail channel pricing of several i5 and i7 Ivy Bridge chips, giving us a taste of what to save up.
As you can see, the prices look consistent, give or take a couple of bucks, with the upcoming Ivy Bridge chips and their current Sandy Bridge counterpart that are bound to be replaced.
A simple example, the Ivy Bridge Core i7-3770K is not only similarly, but identically priced as the Sandy Bridge Core i7-2700K ‘equivalent’, so to speak.
So, who’s excited to see Ivy Bridge in action against Sandy Bridge?
