A Closer Look – Interior

Getting into the Classic 750W wasn’t easy, as the whole PSU is firmly screwed into place and has to be slid out the end of the PSU casing. The PSU casing is a single piece of aluminium giving it nice flowing lines and excellent strength, as well as sleek aesthetics.

There’s plenty of hardware crammed inside the 750W unit, but everything looks very neatly laidout and well spaced out, which should help with airflow and cooling in general.

There are two main bulk capacitors here, both 420v 390uf 105c rated Nippon units, which leads me to think this unit should have no issues exceeding its 750W rating if needed, but we’ll find that out soon enough.

The front PCB for the modular cable connectors, as well as every other throughout the unit looks very well made, with neat and tidy soldering. A few smaller daughter boards are also mounted vertically, which should help improve their cooling and airflow.

The heat sinks here are quite small, but again, there’s plenty of breathing room around each major component, so it should be more than enough.

There are no cables trailing throughout the unit either, so all major connections are being dealt with through the main PCB.

The EM/Line filtering looks robust and well shielded too, as does every other component, so ripple and noise reduction should be pretty solid here.

The fan is an ADDA brushless AS1212DX-A70GL, a low RPM high airflow design that should help keep everything cool and quiet.
