Final Thoughts

Pricing

The InWin Classic C750W Power Supply launches today with an MSRP of £154.99, while the C900W version is £189.99. This obviously isn’t a small amount of money, but keep in mind the excellent efficiency and the aluminium housing, both of which come with a premium and go a long way to justifying the price tag. While not the cheapest 750W Platinum unit on the market, it’s about the average price comparted to what you can get from Corsair, Seasonic, be quiet! and Enermax, to name but a few.

Conclusion

Without a doubt, the InWin Classic C750 is one of the best-looking power supplies on the market today. It’s pretty tough to come up with anything now and exciting in this part of the market, given that the overall shape and size of the unit is governed by various requirements so that they fit into people’s PC cases. Obviously, the biggest playground is material choices, and InWin picking black brushed aluminium with that glossy side panel trim really makes it stand out from the crowd. If you’ve got an aluminium finish chassis, this is going to really complete that look for you.

Fully modular cables are always welcome for me, as it really helps you keep control of your cable management and routing. Any cables you don’t need can be left out of the system and stored in the handy protective bag that was included with the power supply.

The performance of this unit was certainly impressive, making easy work of meeting the 80 Plus Platinum standards, which means less power wasted, a more efficient system and in the end, more money in your wallet when it comes to pay your electricity bill; it pays to be green. The power delivery was pretty solid too, with low ripple and mostly tight voltage regulation. There was a little bit of droop in one or two voltages at minimum and maximum loads, but they weren’t anything to be worried about overall. It was also nice to see that we could draw up to 880W before the OPP kicked in, meaning that the C750 has enough headroom for those overclocking or even just for dealing with general power spikes. What really impressed, however, were the noise levels, the fan didn’t edge above 400 RPM even at max load, and generally idled around 250 RPM, making the C750 virtually silent.

Overall, this is a stunning looking power supply with exceptional build quality and design. Of course, looks aren’t everything, but the C750 packs a mighty punch in terms of power delivery and acoustics, making it a winning choice for any high-end system build.
