InWin G7 Mid Tower Chassis Review

I wasn’t expecting a whole lot from the G7 and that’s likely no surprise to anyone given that it’s not a flagship model or designed for the extreme end of the system building market. What it does offer however is more than enough features for your typical home user with a little extra style added for good measure.

I may not be blown away here in terms of features but that’s not to say the chassis isn’t competent enough to impress. It does have room for quite a lot of cooling fans that would be perfect for the cooling requirements of any mid to high range system that have a focus on air cooling. Of lets not forget that I was able to install a 120mm radiator in the back and this is about as much as most mid to high end systems require, especially if you’re not overly focused on extreme overclocks.

The chassis is also fairly flexible, with plenty of cable management cut-outs, a large cutaway below the motherboard, removable HDD bays and trays and clip-in fan mounts that should make for quick and easy installations and changes of your components. There are also three air filters that will help keep internal maintenance to an absolute minimum.

Build quality is really good too and non of the panels or components felt loose fitting, although some of the materials used are nothing exciting, such as the plastic front panel, they do still look great and the chassis offers up plenty to shout about in the aesthetics department.

It’s nothing ground breaking in terms of features, but it’s well built, well designed and easy to work with. If you’re looking for something within this price range and you like the style, I see no reason why this wouldn’t make a great start to either a new system build, or perfect upgrade from an older chassis. Those wanting to build something a little more extreme may want to look else where, but for your average gaming rig, eg: i5 3570k and no more than two graphics cards, this chassis is more than enough.
