The InWin Mod in Taiwan event is now officially over and what a rollercoaster of an event it has been. From us arriving in Taiwan and meeting the modding teams, right through the crazy three-day live modding event and onto Computex for the final judging of the content. It has been a hell of a lot of fun and the eight competing teams did an amazing job of taking their InWin 509’s and making something truly special. So who are the winners? Let’s take a look!
Team Running With Scissors, formed by Dave Alcock and Daniel Harper, and representing the UK created the chassis you see below. Custom graphics on the resprayed body, a custom cut side panel and a fantastic interior build nailed them the InWin Choice Award, as well as a cash prize, GTX 1080, and a bunch of other hardware goodies. The two main parts of this prize are the best, as the team will be going to CES in Las Vegas in January, as well as having their mod put into a limited production run next year and put on sale to the public! What an honour.
Joining their team with the InWin Choice Award is team KuN MOD, who won the same prizes, will also go to Vegas and have their chassis put into production It’s a simple yet effective build, and really sparks life into the already rather sexy InWin 509.
Best design went to this wonderful beast from BS Mods, a super unique armour plated and knife-wielding chassis that’s unlike anything we’ve ever seen before.
And finally, the crown of Best Design Award went to the Australian team for their completely insane military themed chassis, which features a crazy amount of bullets, front panel TV, extremely complex water cooling, a combat vest with triple radiators and more; insane!
Thank you InWin and all the modders for inviting eTeknix and many of the other press from around the world to such an amazing event, it really was a fantastic view into the world of modding. So, which team had your favourite build from Mod in Taiwan? Let us know in the comments below.
