InWin Saturn ASN120 ARGB Fan Kit Review

Installation and Performance

One of the main key features of the InWin Saturn ASN120 ARGB fan kit is the fact that the fans have been designed to work in a modular style. What does this mean? Well, essentially, rather than having cables coming off each individual fan, they can be daisy-chained (seemingly infinitely – albeit we’re sure there is a limit) from one fan to the next.

Through this system, cable management is an absolute doddle as after the first fan is installed, all you need to keep hooking up others is the short 3″ cable that can be linked up on the corner of the fan.

Lets say, for example, you have 3 intake fans at the front of your PC. Through this system used on the InWin Saturn ASN120 ARGB, you have 1 cable leading from the hub connector (or motherboard if it’s ARGB compatible) then the only remaining cables attach directly from that first fan onto the second, and then the second can attach to the third.

We would say that the hub controller isn’t particularly intuitive to use/hook-up and, given that this fan kit does not come with a physical manual, you may find yourself a little confused as to what needs to go where. Fortunately, the back of the packaging does provide you with a QR code leading directly to the products website where you’ll find an exceptionally good installation guide video.

Functionality

Starting with the ARGB lighting in terms of its presentation, the colors available as well as the different functions, are truly excellent. A particular highlight is the fact that InWin has designed these with a semi-translucent frame that really allows for the color to pop to their best potential. The ARGB effects are bright, vivid, bold, and certainly offer something to suit all tastes. Admittedly, the functionality is perhaps better when used with a compatible ARGB motherboard, but at least InWin does provide you with a manual hub controller for those users who do not.

With the ‘daisy-chain’ style cable attachment as well, you have no difficulty in getting this triple back organised and, quite frankly, when in place they look fantastic!

InWin Saturn ASN120 ARGB Fans In Action

It is, of course, one thing to tell you how good they look. It’s another to provide you with some pictures. To give you the best idea as to what these fans look like a ‘real-world’ application, however, we have thrown the video below together that shows the InWin Saturn ASN120 ARGB fans in action including manually cycling through all of the light modes available.
