Some iPhone 7 Users Are Jacked Off After Drilling Holes Into Their Handset

Apple’s decision to remove the 3.5mm headphone jack in favour of a proprietary lighting connector has rightfully received a great deal of criticism. Despite Apple spouting nonsense remarks about this decision requiring “courage”, it’s clear that the move is both unnecessary and defies logic. Even though it’s possible to use an adapter to connect 3.5mm devices, it defeats the point and goes against Apple’s mantra of using a minimalist design. Of course, the iPhone 7’s headphone jack silliness has resulted in a lot of media discussion and interesting videos. One video in particular by the channel TechRax appears to show a secret hack to create your own headphone jack. Evidently, this is a hoax and designed to poke fun at the situation as the video shows a person drilling a hole into the iPhone 7 before inserting a pair of headphones.

As you can imagine the comments section is awash with people making sarcastic remarks and trolling other users. Saying that, some of the comments appear genuine as captured by CraveOnline:

While the 99.9% of people are either mocking the concept or those who might actually consider destroying their new iPhone, I wouldn’t be surprised if some people have actually given it a go. I’ve heard of some ridiculous gaffes in the past and judging by the video’s views, it seems likely that certain individuals have drilled into their iPhone 7.  The amount of sarcasm throughout the comments is rife which means the amount of people who could have damaged their handset remains exceedingly small.

Do you think a portion of iPhone 7 users would actually follow the video’s instructions without questioning the method?
