The latest iOS 16.5 update is receiving several reports from users surrounding unexpected battery drain on iPhone devices.
iOS 16.5 Battery Drain Issues
Recently as reported by tomsguide.com several people have taken to social media to complain about iOS 16.5 ruining their phones battery life whilst also charging slower and getting to very hot temperatures as mentioned by cowsmi1k on Twitter. Has Apple accidentally released something they shouldn’t have or even worse are they pulling another battery life stunt to get people to buy a new phone? Supposedly the actual solution is to simply wait for the problem to disappear. According to Apple support from an older tweet after the iOS 15.4 update, this is simply a thing that occurs after updates as the apps and features need up to 48 hours to adjust to the update after which your battery should behave normally. Of course there is also still the possibility that something is broken and it will probably be fixed within a similar time frame.
If after 48 hours you have still got these issues then it’s probably safe to just blame Apple and then suffer with the consequences of their actions. So long as you aren’t lost in a forest with no charger you will probably be fine with a weak battery life for a couple of days.
