Is the Sapphire 7900 XT a Match for a 240Hz OLED Monitor?

The Sapphire 7900 XT is one of the most popular AMD graphics cards on the market. With prices currently ranging from as little as £689.99 to £739.99 depending on current sales and promotions, or stock availability, it’s obviously a pretty potent card, and that makes it situated between the Nvidia RTX 4070 Super and the 4070 Ti Super in terms of price. However, when it comes to performance, it proved it could perform similarly or better than the RTX 4080 in many of our gaming benchmarks, so it’s easy to see why it has proven a big hit with gamers around the world.

Now, it’s fair to say Nvidia has a bit of an edge when it comes to ray tracing and similar technologies, they had a gen or two head start on the technology, so that’s no surprise. However, AMD has always pushed to have competitive rasterization performance and while GPUs are all quite expensive these days, the AMD cards have proven more affordable relatively to their raw performance.

The Sapphire 7900 XT is well equipped though, obviously being a gorgeous looking graphics card too, which can be a big part of system building these days. However, it’s a powerful cooler, with three gorgeous premium fans, ensuring it can run cool and quiet while you’re pushing the limits of its hardware. It features 84 Compute Units, 84 Ray Accelerators, and 5376 Stream Processors with 20GB of GDDR6 memory.
