Okay so you’ve now seen why we are doing this and how we intend to get the results from our testing. This is the test system we will be using to collect our results:

Motherboard: ASUS P8Z77-V

Processor: Intel i5 3570K Quad Core

RAM: Kingston HyperX 16GB 1866MHz (4 X 4GB)

Power Supply: Antec High Current Gamer 620W

Case: Cooler Master Test Bench v1.0

Storage: Kingston SSDNow V100 128GB Boot Drive and Samsung F3 1TB HDD for storage.

Graphics Card: XFX HD 5870 1GB

CPU Cooler: Be Quiet! Dark Rock Advanced

Thermal Pastes: Noctua NT-H1, Antec Formula 6, Antec Formula 7, Gelid GC Extreme and Arctic Silver 5.

With regards to our results, the most important components are obviously the processor, cooling and thermal pastes. The other parts are simply required to build a functional system.

We’d like to say a big thank you to Quiet PC, ASUS, Antec, Kingston, Cooler Master and Intel for providing components that makes this testing possible.
