Iwata Now Nintendo of America CEO as Projected Earnings Fall Short

Current chairmen and CEO of Nintendo of America, Tatsumi Kimishima, is leaving. Meaning that he’s taken a managing director job back at Nintendo Co. Ltd., pending shareholding approval.
Global president Satoru Iwata will takeover Kamishima’s duties over in the United States. Reggie Fils-Aime, the current Nintendo of America president and COO will report to Iwata.
Once all this is approved, Kimishima will take the roles of retiring Yoshihiro Mori and Masaharu Matsumoto, who held the positions of general manager of Corporate Analysis and Administration, and general manager of the General Affairs Division, respectively.
According to a Nintendo press release:
“[the changes] will allow streamlined decision making […] enhance Nintendo’s organizational agility in the current competitive environment.”
The move is expected to occur this summer, which will see Kimishima moving from the Redmond, Washington headquarters for Nintendo of America to the Kyoto, Japan base.
