John Cena Might Star in Paramount’s Duke Nukem Movie

John Cena as Duke Nukem? Yes, please!

Obviously, it’s not going to be the most serious film in the world. However, Paramount’s Duke Nukem just got a lot more interesting, as John Cena might actually star as the leading actor. The American professional wrestler, actor, and tv host is currently in talks to fill the role, but the best part is that Michael Bay will also be involved. Cena and Bay is an explosive combination, to say the least, and the Duke Nukem franchise definitely fits right in with this theme. The movie doesn’t have a writer or a director assigned at the time of writing. However, we do know that it is set up at Paramount-based Platinum Dunes. Michael Bay, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller currently operate Platinum Dunes.

About Duke Nukem.

Those of you who are not familiar with this franchise should know that it kicked off in 1991 with a promising video game. That Duke Nukem game was developed by Apogee Software, and its protagonist was a well-built man with Ray-Bans and a flat-top haircut. Duke Nukem fought aliens in order to save the planet, quite a few times over the years, actually. The character appeared in a total of 19 video games. This includes the recent Duke Nukem 3D: World Tour. As for Platinum Dunes, some of its most important titles comprise The Purge, Ouija, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Everyone knows that this upcoming Duke Nukem movie won’t win any Oscars. However, chances are that it will be quite entertaining, and old-school Duke Nukem fans will definitely want to see it.
