Case and cooling manufacturer Jonsbo has an odd new product out called the VF-1. Unlike their usual coolers, this one is specifically for video cards and it even looks like one. The VF-1 has an anodized aluminium magnesium alloy enclosure, making it a sleek looking product. It actually resembles an XFX RX 480 video card on first glance, except with three fans and without the silver accent. It installs on the PC by taking up an expansion slot, sitting below the video card providing additional cooling.
The Jonsbo VF-1 provides supplemantary cooling via three 80mm fans, claiming a further temperature drop of 5 degrees Celcius. Which actually sounds unimpressive. Hopefully, it does a lot better on cards with a blower style cooling.
Normally smaller 80mm fans are loud, but the VF-1 apparently only operates at 18dBA at its maximum 1500 RPM rotational speed. It uses a SATA power connector instead of a fan header so users can hook it up directly to most power supply units. The SATA power connector also allows the VF-1 to have some fancy RGB LED lighting on the side.
The VF-1 measures 134 x 270mm and is only 20mm thick. The aluminium shroud material itself is 1.2mm thick. However, it only weighs 372 grams, so there are no worries about sagging over time. It also comes with a dummy PCIe connector for added weight support.
