How Much Does it Cost?

The Jonsbo QT-01 Black Midi Tower Case is available now at OCUK for a very reasonable £79.99 MSRP. That’s a fair price, given it’s a large, heavy-duty and well-equipped case. However, what’s even better is that it’s actually being sold for just £44.99. Honestly, you’re not going to beat that value. You’ll struggle to find anything with steel this thick and noise dampening materials at this price, well, unless you buy the QT-01, of course.

Overview

This case is old fashioned, and I’m not sure if that’s because it’s just been on the market for a few years, or maybe longer. Or if it’s really because they designed it this way. There’s nothing wrong with the old-school style though, as it’s more purposeful than a lot of modern case designs. While I like tempered glass, RGB, PSU shrouds and big radiator mounts, it does seem that all modern cases have basically become identical to each other.

This isn’t a case for showing off your hardware, it’s a case for getting the job done. It won’t support big radiators or even the largest GPUs on the market. However, what you do get is impressive. It’ll support multiple expansion cards, it has decent cable routing, and it supports vast amounts of storage. It has multiple dedicated bays for 5.25″ drives, 2.5″ drives and 3.5″ drives. This means you can fit optical devices, front-loaded hot-swap hard drives and card readers, multiple RAID SSDs, and a bank of high capacity HDDs all in one build. All those drives can get noisy though, but that’s countered by the built-in noise dampening materials, as well as the thicker steel design of the case.

So while I wouldn’t have this case next to my desk as my gaming PC, I would have it in the back office as my network storage system and Plex server. Actually, that’s something I’m now strongly considering. Throw in a Threadripper CPU, a bunch of hard drives, a Blu-Ray burner and it’s ready to rock!

Should I Buy One?

The Jonsbo QT-01 Quiet is excellent value for money. For a rather small investment, you get a robust, functional and easy to use case, that’s very capable of housing a lot of storage, while also keeping noise levels to a minimum. A perfect setup for those who want a modest and quiet PC, or a solid foundation for a workstation or server style build.
