With many more big games set to release before the end of the year, it seems that the battle over Denuvo is set to continue. The anti-piracy software, which is included in many games, has a bit of a chequered history. Largely because it has often proved to be incredibly unreliable with ‘cracked’ versions of the game appearing days and something hours before launch. There have even been a couple instances of a cracked version appearing before the actual release!
There are, however, people who dislike it for much more fundamental reasons. Either way though, in a report via DSOGaming, Just Cause 4 and Hitman 2 will definitely include Denuvo!
There has been a long-running (and entirely unsettled) debate as to whether the anti-piracy software affects the performance of a game. Many feel that its inclusion often comes at a significant drop in performance. While many of you may be frothing at the suggestion, ultimately the jury is still very firmly out if that is true or not!
EA has over recent years took a bit of a shine to Denuvo. Despite its occasional embarrassing failures. I’ll let you decide whether I’m talking about EA or the anti-virus software in that last sentence. Either way, the chances are that Battlefield V will very likely also include Denuvo. So like it or not, it would appear that Denuvo is set to stick around!
