Just Like Mario Wonder, Mario RPG Leaks Early and is Playable on PC

Nintendo are amazing, they really are one of the best at what they do, except when it comes to PC gaming that is. It’s something that always baffled me after frankly decades of rampant emulation of Nintendo systems. Just last month, Super Mario Wonder not only leaked to the public nearly two weeks before the retail date but was playable in 4K and at 60Hz within a matter of hours. Great if you’re into emulation and don’t mind dealing with dumping the ROM for your legit hardware, or ya know… finding one online to download for free (a bit of a grey area, that’s for sure).
Mario RPG Emulation
Now it seems the exact same thing is true of Super Mario RPG. Both the latest versions of Yuzu and Ryujinx are capable of running it rather well, so if you have a favourite, go with whichever you like the best already, both are free to use, albeit with some newer features behind a Patreon, but that doesn’t seem to be required to play Mario RPG.
How to Play
As for getting hold of the ROM, well, you can likely guess I won’t tell you how or where, as that’s stepping over the line of legality. As such, please don’t share links in the comments, they will be removed, and where permitting, so will you.
It seems this happens to every major Nintendo release these days, with Zelda, Pokemon, Mario and many others all on PC in higher resolutions, aspect ratios, frame rates, with mods and more. It really is getting past the point where Nintendo need new hardware, as there’s clearly a market for people who want to see these games on better hardware.
There are videos of gameplay, but the ones I was about to add have just been taken down. Nintendo lawyers don’t muck about with their DMCA ban hammer. But you can check for newly added videos right here.
