The Megabox service promises to sell music directly to listeners and allows artists to keep up to 90% of the revenue. He said that the public can expect several announcements and a few exclusive deals with artists who are basically sick and tired of the old way of doing things in the music industry.
The service has apparently been tried and tested on 1 million users already with a successful outcome. It boasts to pay artists revenue even when the music is listened to for free (probably as a result of advertising revenues being shared). Although it remains to be seen how successful this service will be, the market for it seems to be there – a better version of Spotify?
