Kingdom Come- Deliverance 2 Developer Confirms That DRM Isn't in the Game at All

If there’s one open-world RPG topping the most anticipated lists of 2025, it’s Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. The sequel to the 2018 Warhorse Studios project, which stirred some controversy over its portrayal of 15th-century Bohemian society, is shaping up to be a massive and thrilling experience. And while its creators regret having to delay the release until 2025, today they have some good news: it won’t be launching with Denuvo.

No Denuvo Confirms Warhorse Studios

This clarification comes in response to confusion surrounding Denuvo’s potential inclusion, which began after an email from Plaion, the parent company of Warhorse Studios, suggested that the game would include the anti-piracy tool. However, Warhorse quickly shut down these rumors, confirming that Denuvo was never officially announced and that the email led to a misunderstanding.

“There will be no Denuvo at all,” Warhorse Studios’ Global PR Manager Tobias Stolz-Zwilling confirmed in a Twitch stream. Despite the game’s 2025 release date, developers are eager to address any doubts about Denuvo to ensure transparency with PC gamers. Stolz-Zwilling urged fans to stop questioning DRM in their posts, emphasizing that Warhorse never intended to implement Denuvo and that the confusion stemmed from an internal miscommunication.

This news is significant as Denuvo has faced ongoing criticism from the gaming community, who argue that the software can negatively impact game performance and has tainted the reputation of several high-profile titles. In light of these concerns, developers behind games like Space Marine 2, Payday 3, and Tekken 8 have also opted to exclude Denuvo from their releases.

With Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 confirmed to be Denuvo-free, players can expect an enhanced experience in terms of performance.
