Kingdom Hearts 3 Releasing For PC Looks More Likely

Kingdom Hearts 3

With Final Fantasy XV PC’s release just around the corner, it’s easy to forget that Square Enix also has another major release planned this year. No, it’s not Final Fantasy 7, it’s Kingdom Hearts 3.

Yes, our favourite Disney/Square Enix mash-up is coming soon to both PS4 and Xbox One. With a PC version yet to be discussed, comments from Square Enix make it seem more likely than before.

What do we know so far?

At present, not as much as we would like to. A formal release date is expected to be announced at E3 this year with us all hoping Kingdom Hearts 3 will come out before the end of the year. What we do know is that Monsters Inc is included in the game and that they will have their own specialized level. That’s pretty cool!

Will it release on PC?

Square Enix, has, for a long time, discussed branching into PC releases. We have, after all, just seen Final Fantasy XIII land on PC and as above, FFXV is due to release in the next couple weeks. In a report via DSOGaming though, the PC release for this particular game now seems more likely than not.

Speaking in the report, Square Enix has said: “[we] think the rule of the company, the strategy, has very much moved in the direction of trying to get as many of our games out on as many different platforms as possible to reach as many different players as possible. So I think you’ll definitely be seeing a lot more platforms and a lot more broader release of games in the future.”

That’s not confirmation!

No, it’s not. It does, however, clearly demonstrate that Square Enix is starting to, finally, take the PC medium seriously.

While Kingdom Hearts 3 is still not confirmed for release on PC, I know for a fact that many of us here at eTeknix would love to see it, and would probably only get it, if it did.

What do you think? Are you a fan of Kingdom Hearts? Would you like to see the new game release on PC? – Let us know in the comments!
