The resident EVGA overclocker Vince “K|INGP|IN” Lucido just set four new world records using the latest EVGA hardware. The record is running the newly released Intel Core i9-7980XE processor on an EVGA X299 DARK Motherboard. This Intel Core i9-7980XE processor has 18-cores and 36-threads, running at 2.6GHz by default which reaches 4.2GHz turbo. K|NGP|N overclocked the CPU to 5.7GHz with 4x GeForce GTX 1080Ti video cards at 2.3GHz.
K|NGP|N’s 5.7 GHz overclock is 400MHz shy of Der8auer’s 6.1GHz overclock on all cores. However, it still set world records on several 3DMark categories: 3DMark TimeSpy, Firestrike, FireStrike Extreme and FireStrike Ultra. Vince Lucido did not just use any reference GeForce GTX 1080 Ti video cards of course. He used the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti cards which bear his name. These special K|NGP|N edition models are binned for overclocking and fetch for $999 each. The video cards as well as the CPU were all under LN2.
