Kingston HyperX X2 Grey Series 4GB 1600MHz Memory Kit Review

Final ThoughtsWe’re not going to focus on the styling as we’ve delved into that kettle of fish before and in all honest, we like it. We don’t need to say more than that so lets talk about the performance.

The speed of the memory at stock is something that will certainly be welcomed by the majority of mainstream users whether they be running on AMD or Intel systems, though this memory kit is aimed more towards Sandybridge. For extreme users they are more likely to buy a higher rated kit, but that’s not to say that these modules aren’t up to the task as they offer a great speed with a good amount of stability. Even when overclocking we found that we were able to push the memory quite a bit further than first anticipated, whilst keeping a nice stable outcome.

When overclocking it allowed us to squeeze that extra bit of performance from the modules and we are always keen to get a little something extra, especially when it’s free.

Price wise, they will only set you back £34.79 from Overclockers UK or $49.99 from Newegg, giving this a fantastic bang for buck and coupling that with the performance really does leave you asking why you shouldn’t buy them and honestly we can’t think of any reason why you wouldn’t purchase this particular kit.

The modules really speak for themselves, and that’s why we’re cutting this conclusion short, as the bottom line is that; if you want a memory kit that simply works with no complex settings or adjustments needed, for a stupidly low price from a reliable manufacturer, then you can’t go wrong with this 1600MHz HyperX Genesis kit from Kingston.

Pros:

  • Stylish
  • Fantastic value for money
  • Lifetime warranty
  • Reliable brand
  • Fast speeds

Cons:

  • None
