One thing is to have cool and fast storage for your mobile devices, from smartphones to digital cameras, but you’ll also want to be able to transfer the files from those cards to your system with decent speeds. For this, Kingston just announced their 4th generation HS4 All-In-One Media Reader. The multi-function reader improves upon the previous model as it reads all major card format types including the latest SD card speeds (UHS-I, UHS-II) and CF Type I and II (UDMA 0-7). The HS4 media reader connects through USB 3.0 for maximised transfer speeds up to 5Gbit/s and is highly portable with its small size.
HS4 All-In-One Media Reader Features and Specifications:
“HS4 All-In-One Media Reader is a great device to quickly move data between multiple devices whether at home or on the road,” said Jean Wong, Flash memory business manager, Kingston. “The higher-capacity CF Ultimate 600x lets avid photographers and videographers capture more content and when used with the reader, data transfer is simple and fast.”
Kingston also announced a new 64GB version of their CompactFlash Ultimate 600x cards. The 64GB CF Ultimate 600x cards offers speeds up to 90MB/s read and write to support burst mode photography or HD video. The addition of MediaRECOVER software also lets you recover deleted files and restore corrupt files, if that ever should needed.
The Media reader comes with a two-year warranty while the CF Ultimate 600x memory card comes with Kingston’s great lifetime warranty. No word on pricing or availability yet, but it should be soon. I found one Italian shop with the Media reader listed for €28, but not in stock.
