Pricing
Kingston’s SDCA3/64G isn’t just a small and fast card, it’s also relative cheap. You can pick one up at Overclockers UK for 34.98, Scan Computers for £33.17, or on Amazon for £36.97. US readers can find it at NewEgg for $46.99 and Amazon for $54.83 while German readers can find the best deal via Geizhals where it starts at €40.85.
Overview
The Kingston SDCA3/64G is a very durable memory card that can withstand submersion in 1 meter deep water for up to 30 minutes, it also offers MIL-STD-883H military standard shock resistance, X-ray protection from both sides, and can withstand temperatures up to 85°C; impressive. This is a great level of protection to have for your memory cards, especially when they are as small as microSD cards are, as they’re rather susceptible to damage.
The Kingston SDCA3 is a very fast memory card with rated speeds up to 90MB/s. The two card readers I had at my disposal here couldn’t fully achieve those, but still performed very great. We also saw a clear difference in what reader was used – so that is an important factor for the performance. We still saw speeds up to 67MB/s reading and 63MB/s writing which are impressive speeds none the less.
An added bonus to these Kingston SDCA3 cards is the lifetime warranty coverage with free technical support. The addition of the SD adapter is another great bonus, making it more universally usable.
Pros:
- Great speeds
- SD Adapter included
- Lifetime Warranty
Cons:
“Recording 4K or 3D video will be just as smooth and fast an experience with the Kingston SDCA3 card as copying large amount of data to and from it.”
