Depending on which particular SKU of the V300 is purchased, we would be presented by one of two packs. When shipped as a standalone drive, the V300 comes in a clear blister pack, but with all other options the drive comes in a box with the relevant accessories. The combo kit comes with all options available for both notebook and desktop upgrade scenarios as indicated towards the top right hand corner of the box.
On the rear of the box, we get a breakdown on what is included in the box, along with an easy basic instruction set above.
Opening up the contents, we first find two discs with the drive cloning software and installation guides. There is also a getting started guide that shows how and when to fit the drive adaptor as we will see later. We do note that the guide is labelled for the V200 series of drives, so this looks to be a typing error that was over-looked in quality control.
Like we’ve seen in the bundles of V series drive’s before, the 2.5″ USB enclosure allows you to fit the SSD for use anywhere.
As part of the desktop fitting kit, Kingston include a molex to SATA power adaptor, SATA data cable, 2.5″ to 3.5″ rails and two sets of screws for fitting. The black frame is a spacer that increases the drives profile from 7mm to 9.5mm for installation into notebooks that require a 9.5mm drive.
