A Closer Look

The heatsink is really nice, with a single-piece aluminium construction and this slick two-tone design. It might not look like much, but it’s more than enough to keep a Gen4 drive working at its best.

This is a single-sided drive, so it should be broadly compatible with slimmer format systems, notebooks, ultrabooks, handhelds, and even the PlayStation 5.

It’s a pretty simple setup too, with four NAND chips taking up the bulk of the PCB, and then the Phison controller on the I/O side. Honestly, it doesn’t get much more straightforward than this. However, having it all on one side does make it easier to get more uniform cooling on the drive, which is nice.
