A Closer Look
When it comes to premium materials and design, KLEVV is second to none, and that certainly remains true today with the KLEVV CRAS XR5, as this memory looks gorgeous. It features an aluminium heat spreader finished in white over a black PCB and with a black stripe running along the length of the heatsink. The text on the side of the memory is finished in white too, giving it a nice contrast against the black stripe. The white section has a pitted finish that sort of looks like a golf ball surface. Not only does this look fantastic, but it’s going to significantly increase the surface area of the heat spreader too, which will help with the overall cooling performance.
Surprisingly, for such an incredibly high-speed rated kit, the modules are relatively low profile, so they are less likely to conflict with larger air coolers, but of course, always check your clearances before you order your parts anyway.
Aside from the heatsink, they come with a durable 10-layer black PCB providing a sturdy base for the memory and the heatsink. There’s a built-in PMIC here in the middle, as well as a thermal sensor, allowing the memory to manage its power draw and efficiency, while also improving the overall stability.
Once installed, the RGB really does look amazing. It’s a nicely rounded lightbar, with a small divider in the middle giving it the look of an elongated oval.
When it comes to RGB lighting though, there are a lot of smaller lights in each modular, with the light bar giving it a diffused effect, allowing for smooth colour transitions across the spine of the memory.
