Upon my first impressions, the Kolink Observatory Z Mesh ARGB Looks pretty decent. It’s not really taking many risks though, and it sticks to the current market formulate of clean lines and a big slab of tempered glass down the left side. Not that I’m complaining though, it’s a popular look and if I’m honest, I’m not bored of that style at all yet. What I do appreciated though, is that they’ve flush mounted the glass, giving it a crisp and premium look overall.
As the name of this model suggests, the front panel has a high-airflow mesh design. Again, much like the glass, the mesh is flush-mounted into the plastic surround, giving it a fairly flat and clean aesthetic. There are some recesses on the side pillars though, but otherwise, it’s a pretty clean and understated design. At least, it is with the power off, as there are three RGB fans behind that mesh which are sure to jazz things up later on; the front panel will also support 420/360/280/240mm radiators.
Down the right side, there is a solid steel panel finished in black. The screws are at the back, again leaving us with a clean looking side panel. It’s nothing too fancy looking, but it’s robust and certainly gets the job done.
There’s a fair bit more going on up on the top though, with a full-length dust filter providing a huge amount of passive heat exhaust and airflow in general.
Of course, it’s a magnetic mount, so you can just pop it off for quick and easy cleaning. Plus, that’ll give you access to the top panel fan mounts, where you’ll find space for 3 x 120mm or 2 x 140mm fans. Of course, that also includes 360/380/340mm radiator support also.
The front panel I/O is decked out! From front to back, you’ll find power, two USB 3.0, two USB 2.0, microphone, headphones, reset, a built-in RGB control switch, and a USB type-C! That’s not too shabby at all.
Around the back, you’ll find a good amount of additional ventilation at the top, and a 120/140mm fan/radiator mount below that, which has a fourth 120mm ARGB fan pre-installed. There are 7+3 expansion slots, all featuring reusable metal and ventilated covers. Of course, that means you have the option to vertically mount a card, but you’ll need to provide your own riser cable for this; they’re not particularly expensive though.
