I’m sure that more than a few of you are aware that creators of emulation software have had more than a few uphill battles with the various technologies utilised within the PlayStation consoles over the years. – Most notably, this has been seen within the PS3 where, at least at the time of writing, RPCS3 remains one of the best emulation tools around. Even after over 10-years worth of work, however, it is still a long way from being perfect. And this is no criticism of the especially hard work that has been put into it either. It just proves that emulating the PlayStation 3 and everything since on PC has been an exceptionally difficult task!
Following a report via DSOGaming, however, there is some exciting news in regards to PlayStation emulation. – Kyty has been released, and, to the best of my knowledge, this represents the first publically available to download PS5 (yes PlayStation 5) emulator!
Now it should be noted that although this is the first PS5 emulator, things are still in an exceptionally early stage of development. So early, in fact, that it doesn’t currently offer any kind of working support for existing mainstream PS5 gaming titles. It is, for all intents and purposes, a stable PS5 emulation environment, but nothing more. – On the plus side though, in conjunction with this work, the Kyty emulator is including support for the PS4 as well which, in comparison, seems to be coming along a lot better.
So, in terms of the PS5 emulation experience, temper your expectations. – If you do, however, want to learn more, you can check out it (and download it) via the link here!
