What’s that? You can’t afford to buy that Lamborghini Aventador you’ve been pining for? Well, now supercar fans can have the next best thing: Lamborghini is releasing its own Android smartphone. Kind of.
The $6,000, leather-and-steel 88 Tauri smartphone is made by Torino Lamborghini which, despite sporting the same font and bull logo, is only tangentially-related to the sportscar manufacturer. The company is owned by the son of the Lamborghini car company’s founder, Ferruccio Lamborghini. Though, when you’re paying six grand for a phone, that’s just semantics.
The 88 Tauri is limited to 1,947 units, making owners part of a very exclusive club. But you’re not just getting a fashion accessory, since Torino Lamborghini proudly proclaims that the handset is capable of taking “the most luxurious selfie in the world.” You don’t get luxurious selfies with a Galaxy S5, that’s for sure. The phone also has 5-inch 1080p screen, 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB storage.
The 88 Tauri goes on sale in late December.
