After the massive smash hit that was Baldur Gate 3 developers at Larian have announced that they will be moving away from the Dungeons and Dragons IP which unfortunately does mean that there will be no DLCs for Baulder Gate 3 or even a Baldur’s Gate 4.
As sad as it is to hear that we won’t be getting any DLC for Baldur’s Gate 3 we have been given a hint as to what Larian Studios will be working on next. CEO of Larian Swem Vincke says that the team has two other new games that it wants to make.
“We have two games that we want to make and we have lots of concepts, so let’s just have closures on Baldur’s Gate 3” From Swen Vincke in an interview with IGN.
In the interview with IGN Swen says that he can’t say what will be next but does say “No, it [one of the studio’s new projects] will have its proper moment. Hopefully, nobody’s going to leak it for us, but it’s different than what you think it is, but it is still familiar enough for you to recognize that it’s something that we are making.”
So although the project is going to be far off I’m sure it will be well worth the wait and Swen Vinke shortly after the interview sent a post out on Twitter/X reaffirming his belief in moving away from the DnD IP and working on something new.
