Latest HyperX Orbit S Headset Has Head Movement Gestures

Hyper X Orbit S

It’s obvious that all headsets are not created equally. However, the Hyper X Orbit S is built to a standard rarely seen in the gaming world. As with most premium headsets, it features powerful drivers. Rather than the usual 50mm drivers, this has Audeze custom 100mm Planar Magnetic Drivers… those are typically found in extremely expensive audiophile headphones!

We didn’t have chance to test it out, but we have very big expectations of this headset. Equipped with those Audeze drivers, as well as Waves NX 3D Audio technology for head positional tracking and 3D audio movement relative to the angle of your head.

If that’s not enough, they even have motion triggers. Shake your head, tip it to one side, etc, and you can trigger macros. This could be used to perform gestures in games. Nod to say OK, shake your head to say no. Albeit, if you sneeze, you could end up gesturing something by accident, but it’s a fun idea regardless.

At $319.99 they’re not cheap, but the bulk of that is likely down to the new drivers. They’ll be launching later this year, no doubt in time for Christmas.

Cloud Alpha S

The much more modest Cloud Alpha S are the latest evolution of their usual gaming series. Now equipped with a closed back design that can be opened up with a simple slider. This allows you to tune the low-end bass response to suit your taste.

Plus, with durable build quality, great style, and no doubt a competitive price, we really can’t wait to test these out too!

So it's no wonder I write about tech and test the latest hardware while I enjoy my hobbies!
