Latest Oculus DK2 Update Renders AMD Cards Incompatible

The latest version 1.20 update to the Oculus Home software app is apparently rendering the Oculus DK2 unusable. These reports first surfaced on reddit where users have been posting images like the one above. A noticeable green overlay is visible and the images are often at a wrong 90-degree angle. The color channels are also split on some. This problem is baffling users since it seems that not all Oculus DK2 users are experiencing it. However, as more and more reports come in, a pattern starts to emerge.
Problems with AMD Video Cards
It appears that the problem is exclusively happening on systems with Radeon graphics. Users with an R9 280, R9 290X and R9 390 have been showing photos of their headset. Meanwhile, NVIDIA users have their Oculus DK2 working as usual. According to Tom’s Hardware, it is most likely because of AMD driver incompatibility with the Oculus DK2 driver software update. Since the DK2 is an older hardware, there might not be further revisions coming to fix it. Which means it would have to be solved by AMD with their next driver release. The Development Kit 2 began shipping in July and until February 2015 have shipped over 100,000 units.
