Latest ROG Ally BIOS Causes Performance Losses For The Handheld

ASUS is not having a great time at the moment and piling onto their list of problems is the latest BIOS update for the ROG Ally handheld console leading to performance drops in several games.

ROG ALLY BIOS 319 Causing Performance Issues

As shared by Hothardware, it has been found that the latest BIOS update version 319 features issues which are causing performance losses with several games. The handheld was tested by The Phawx in 15W and 25W where drops were seen as much as 18% with Cyberpunk 2077 at 25W when compared to their initial review testing. Funnily enough on the BIOS page it states under Important Information “Optimize system performance”, which unfortunately didn’t appear to be the case.

ASUS Is Aware

Luckily this issue has been addressed by ASUS with Whitson Gordon, an ASUS Rep, mentioning in a video titled “The Best ROG Ally Tips and Tricks” stated at around 4 Minutes in that some users are reporting lower performance and have advised people to hold off on that BIOS. Unfortunately, they did not comment on when we would see a new BIOS that hasn’t got these issues.

Have you got a ROG Ally and how do you find it? Let us know in the comments.
