LC Power Gaming 986 Chassis Revealed

It looks like the trend for aluminium and tempered glass is extending beyond Lian Li and In Win this year, as more and more chassis manufacturers try to imitate the high-end looks that have been setting the standard over the last few years. Now LC Power is showing off their new mid-tower, the Gaming 986S White Shadow and the Gaming 986B Dark Shadow.
Both of the new chassis support ATX motherboards, an ATX PSU, measure (Width, Height, Depth): 223 x 482 x 467 mm and weigh approx. 19.84 lbs. You’ll find two 120mm fans with red LED lighting in the White Shadow or Blue in the Dark Shadow, and there are seven fan mounts in total; three in the front, one interior, two at the top and one in the back, all 120mm fittings.
LC-Power Gaming 986S and 986B come equipped with four USB ports, with 2x USB 3.0 and 2 x USB 2.0 on the front panel, as well as the usual HD audio jacks. The HDD cage system allows an installation of up to five 3.5” drives, three 2.5” drives and seven PCI expansion cards. Unfortunately no information on GPU length compatibility, but it looks like even the biggest cards on the market won’t be an issue here.
No word on price yet, but LC Power said “Both products are catered for gamers with high expectations but at the same time they provide good value for money.” in their release, so we would hope for a competitive price. We’ll bring you more information as we have it.
What do you think of the LC Power chassis design and if you do like it, which would you rather have, the White Shadow or the Dark Shadow?
