Leak Source Claims AMD Radeon 7000 GPUs Will Not Release Until Early December!

With AMD already having confirmed that the launch of their Radeon 7000 graphics cards will take place on November 3rd, while there is certainly a lot of hype and anticipation building from the community (and especially those not overly impressed with the price tags on Nvidia’s initial 40XX line-up), there is clearly still the question of when the Radeon 7000 series will actually be available to purchase.

Well, following a Twitter post by reliable leak source “@greymon55“, it seems that while we’re less than a week away from their launch, we’re probably looking at some point in early December until these new GPUs actually hit retail shelves!

AMD Radeon 7000 – Early December Release?

The news isn’t honestly surprising nor indeed the first instance we’ve seen of the suggestion that the graphics cards will actually be available to purchase about a month after their launch. – Typically speaking, in the tech world at least, launch events do tend to occur roughly 2-4 weeks before a release (to allow a little hype and demand to build up).

So, while it seems we’ve still got a little bit of a wait on our hands, there is still the question of exactly what graphics cards AMD will kick off with the initial Radeon 7000 launch.

Launch Line-Up?

Unlike Nvidia, AMD doesn’t have the same kind of problems when it comes to masses of current-gen stock. As such, we can likely expect their launch line-up (and subsequent release patterns) to be notably more busy and aggressive. It’s already understood that the November 3rd event will see the confirmation of the 7900 XT as well as the still somewhat mysterious 7900 XTX (which will reportedly come with 24GB of GDDR6 VRAM).

With this in mind though, we don’t think it unlikely that AMD will also use the event to confirm other GPUs from the Radeon 7000 series, and who knows, perhaps the full main line-up from the 7600 XT all the way up to this seemingly monstrous 7900 XTX.

With less than a week to go though, we don’t have much longer to wait before we find out. Let’s hope though that, in terms of prices, AMD can perhaps give us at least some kind of upgrade we can actually afford!
