Leaked Benchmark Shows AMD 7950X Outperforming the 5950X by 40%

AMD is expected tomorrow, all going well, to formally confirm the launch of its brand new Ryzen 7000 processors, and, with this in mind, we can undoubtedly expect to see a slew of official documentation indicative of what level of performance we can expect to see from them. Yes, it should be noted that AMD is only expected to initially kick things off with four models, but with the 7600X, 7700X, 7900X, and 7950X apparently on the way, there is clearly a bit of something for everyone here!

What about that flagship model though? Just how good is it really going to be? Well, following a report via TechPowerUp, benchmark scores have leaked online which show the upcoming 7950X flagship outperforming its current-gen counterpart (the 5950X) by as much as 40% in CPU-Z!

AMD Ryzen 9 5950X Destroys 5950X in CPU-Z!

Now, as often is the case with leaks such as this, take it with a grain of salt. Presuming the information is accurate, however, then with this AMD Ryzen 7950X engineering sample achieving a multi-core CPU-Z score of 16,809, this sees it beat the current-gen flagship 5950X by circa 41%, and perhaps even more impressively, the Intel i9-12900K by circa 43%.

And in terms of Intel’s upcoming i9-13900K? Well, it would appear that the 7950X is going to perform, roughly speaking, about on par with it which is more than a little impressive given that this is AMD’s first transition to their AM5 socket, and, of course, on their new Zen4 architecture.

Overall, this is certainly suggesting that while there are a lot of new things on the way for Ryzen 7000, AMD may not be having too many teething problems with this next generation of processors. – With that being said though, and particularly in regards to Intel comparisons, price will clearly be a pretty huge factor here. All going well though, we’ll know a lot more about these new CPUs within the next 24 hours!

At this precise moment though, things, well, in terms of performance at least, are certainly looking good for Team Red!
