Super Rare Zelda NES Cartridge Hits $110K at Auction

It’s not exactly a secret that rare video games can command quite a significant price when they hit online auction sites. Following a new listing on Heritage Auctions, however, we have something exceptionally unusual here indeed. Not only is this a graded and sealed copy of The Legend of Zelda for the NES, which is pretty hard to come by in itself, but it also has the distinction, even when compared to other similar products, of being significantly more unique than your average copy.
The Legend of Zelda NES Cartridge Hits $110K
So, it’s a sealed original copy of The Legend of Zelda, and it comes with a graded rating of 9 which, if you’re not aware, is exceptionally high and indicative of its near-perfect condition. What else makes this particular item so distinctive though? – Well, it basically boils down to the fact that this is, roughly speaking, one of the first to roll off the production line. Confirmed as a “NES R” variant, this is massively rarer when compared to the more mass produced later revisions and, on the whole, this is the primarily reason why it has already managed to hit a bid of $110,000 with 4 days still left to run!
Super Rare!
Although not quite the rarest version of The Legend of Zelda, it’s still exceptionally unusual to see one of these boxed and sealed games hit the online auction market. As such, this is exactly the sort of thing those exceptionally enthusiastic collectors crave. Therefore, if you do, perhaps have a couple hundred thousand dollars burning a hole in your pocket and want to place a bid yourself, you can check out the official auction website via the link here!
